The Department of Architecture at K-State is highly regarded for its approach to professional architectural education. Five years ago, the Department converted its professional degree program from a Bachelor to Master of Architecture, and it continues to pursue qualitative changes to its core curriculum. This spring, the Department received a full six-year accreditation, earning citations for distinction in several required areas of study.

The College of Architecture, Planning & Design (APDesign) is a comprehensive, interdisciplinary, environmental design school with accredited professional programs in architecture, interior architecture, landscape architecture, and regional and community planning. The confluence of these allied professional disciplines makes the College one of the most esteemed design schools in the nation.

The College’s Dean and the University’s President, Provost, and other senior staff were all recently appointed. These new leaders have invigorated the campus community, inspiring an infusion of new ideas and collaboration in pedagogy, scholarship, and outreach.

The Department is located at K-State’s Manhattan campus. A growing, increasingly multicultural small town, Manhattan is located in the scenic Flint Hills region of Kansas. This year, Forbes magazine ranked Manhattan the best small place for business and careers in the U.S. The department also conducts studios at the Kansas City Design Center in Kansas City, Missouri, and has a long-standing curricular partnership with the Department of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design at the University of Missouri/Kansas City.

Kansas State University is an equal opportunity employer and actively seeks diversity amongst its employees. Background checks are required for all applicants.
