IndexSaving a tear down in Wine Country
1920 was the decade when Sonoma hosted 2nd homes for San Francisco residence needing to warm up during the "famous" San Francisco summers.
One bath, one bedroom and lots of wineries. After 15 years of recent tenants and serious neglect, the house and 1/3rd of an acre of fruit trees and scary grasses looked a bit like a haunted house. Saving the structure, as well as the character, was the point of this heavy duty remodel. The added deck grounded the house to the property and the orchard/veggie garden was resurrected. The entire neighborhood stopped by at one time or another to thank us for our efforts.
