The Julia Morgan Project presents

The acclaimed play by Belinda Taylor , directed by Barbara Oliver, featuring Janis Stevens in the title role

Becoming Julia Morgan

Discover the private side of the Bay Area’s own Julia Morgan, California’s first woman architect, as she breaks new ground in more ways than one--working on the magnificent Hearst Castle at San Simeon, running a busy San Francisco office, and surmounting a medical crisis.

The ensemble cast brings to life real characters, including her brother Avery Morgan, Phoebe Hearst, Bernard Maybeck, Charlie Chaplin and of course William Randolph Hearst. Witty and fast-paced, the play performed to sold-out houses and won rave reviews last year.

“A brisk, stylish production. Taylor’s writing makes the play extremely interesting, but what makes it sparkle are the performances of the four cast members...”
- Pat Craig, Bay Area News Group (Contra Costa Times, San Jose Mercury News)
