Gilda Puente-Peters - Feb 10, 2010 9:01AM OWA member Gilda Puente-Peters will present a training course on disabled accessibility to meet California State licensing requirements for continuing education on disabled access. Send a deposit to Gilda by February 1st to guarantee your place. Training Location: UC Berkeley Wurster Hall Room 104 Time: 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM (two and a half hours) Cost: OWA members $100 Non-members $125 Gilda Puente-Peters, Principal of GILDA PUENTE-PETERS ARCHITECTS (GPPA), Universal Design Specialists and Accessibility Consultants is an award winning architect with 22 years of specialized experience in the disabled access field. She is considered an expert in the field of access compliance and Universal Design not only in California but also internationally. Gilda has been providing the mandated continuing education accessibility trainings for the OWA and other private and public organizations. Gilda served as a subject matter expert for a year and a half, participating in the development of the Certified Access Specialist Program (CASp). She offers detailed CASp trainings, to prepare candidates to take the test to obtain the CASp certification. GPPA’s services include preparation of ADA Transition Plans and Self-evaluations, CASp surveys, inspections, plan reviews and punch lists assisting public and private entities during the design and construction process. Yes! they are, so the accessibility continued education hours that you take are accumulative. You need to have 5 hours of training in a two-year period. I look forward to seeing you there!
