2012 OWA+DP Retreat
September 7-9 2012, Westerbeke Ranch, Sonoma, California (map)
2012 was our 24th year hosting the OWA retreat.
Catherine Brinkman, an energetic teacher with Dale Carnegie Training, will provide us with a unique opportunity to enhance and expand our people skills. Catherine's College minor was in Urban Planning, giving her familiarity with the environmental design field.
Creating a Positive Work Environment and Enthusiastic People will distill Dale Carnegie's century worth of success and provide us with a concentrated workshop to refresh, hone or build our skills in five interrelated areas: self-confidence, people skills, communication, leadership, and worry and stress management.
These fundamentals, the Five Drivers of Success, go hand-in-hand with self-confidence. In our world of risk, challenge, competition and change, this is the competitive edge. We will build our confidence, stretch our comfort zones, learn to overcome negativity, and expand our ability as leaders to build positivity, confidence and enthusiasm in others.
The program will be instructive, provocative and fun!
art project: Carol Bojarsky, Westerbeke's excellent chef, will teach us the art of creating fine hors d'oevres.
fun with movement and centering: This year we will learn some salsa steps in anticipation of the musical performance, and on Sunday, a yoga instructor will provide a calming conclusion to the retreat.
Saturday night music: There will be a live musical performance by members of the well known women's salsa band Azucar Con Ache for dancing on Saturday night.
